To be ready for this class:

  • Choose a Hawaiian plant, fish, vertebrae, coral or geological feature.
  • Find a credible site for info about it. 
  • Take some notes that you’ll use to teach another student about it.
    • How much? Enough to speak for 2 or 3 minutes.
  • Write the reference for each source used.

  • Answer any questions you may have about them.

  • Learn how and why.
    • Assess how good our citations done as prep for class are.
      • Do one as class in APA style using MyBib.
      • Do them in APA style using MyBib and compare the results.
  • Go over the format of the References list in APA.
    • Compare to CSE style for a broader understanding.

    • List register features for academic audience.
    • List register features for elementary school kids.

    • Find examples of each in Biology teacher's brief presentation on fish identification.
      • We take notes of language from each style as they speak.
