To be ready for class:
- Write notes for 3 new paragraphs in this worksheet from Class 2:
- These notes will be useful in the Midterm Evaluations.
- Perhaps you'll also want to make notes a second time for something we already did together. This can help you learn too.
- Do Part 1 of Theme 2.
- Study the words in your Vocabulary Table.
- Learn what readers want in a text.
- Learn about blog posts and how to write a good one.

What we'll do in class:
Speaking to warm up (10 minutes)
- Practice our polite phrasings by quizzing a partner politely about the new words in their Vocabulary Table.
Tag-questions for conjectures (20 minutes)
- What a tag-question is (video)
- In pairs, we use tag-questions to guess things about our partner. "You look like someone who..."
Typical text body structure (25 minutes)
- We go over our notes for the worksheet.
- With partners, we look for ideas that are developed in our Theme 1 articles:
Speaking from notes (15 minutes)
- We use our notes from the Theme 1 articles to practice speaking.
Gather some facts (25 minutes)
- We'll choose some facts from the video & article in Part 1 of Theme 2.
- We'll also simulate the Speaking Evaluation coming up in Class 6.
Get our writing going (20 minutes)
- Start our Target Errors List.
- Start our own blog post about a topic of your choice in our shared WORD 365 document.
